The advance of agricultural "biosolutions"

In recent years, agriculture in the Americas has undergone a significant transformation thanks to the advance of so-called "biosolutions".

We refer to the growing development of beneficial solutions for organic agriculture and healthy food production. They are revolutionizing the way crop pests and diseases are managed, as well as weed control, while promoting soil health and environmental sustainability.

The new era of sustainable agriculture

The following are just a few examples of companies that, backed by teamwork in research, development and innovation (R&D&I), are making a difference.

The U.S. family business BioSafe Systems stands out for its focus on the development of effective and certified biopesticides and bioherbicides.

In Mexico, the company PTI - Grupo Ultraquimia, in business since 2004, stands out for offering a wide range of certified bioinputs.

In South America, these emerging technologies are also being adopted.

The Argentine company Tensac, whose headquarters are located in the city of San Miguel de Tucumán offers various sustainable products for industry and organic agriculture. In this last field, the firm is recognized for its award-winning Esten 80 insecticide and acaricide.

Biopacific is a Chilean company that has been developing biological products for agriculture since 2007, particularly microbial bio-controllers and bio-stimulants.

In Brazil, faced with a market largely dominated by agrochemicals, a sustainable model is beginning to gain ground, challenging conventional agriculture and the production of genetically modified foods. These are the so-called "biofactories on the farm", which favor organic agriculture based on the development and application of biological inputs.

In Uruguay, the company BioTerra focuses on research and development of biofertilizers and environmentally friendly solutions, such as insecticides, repellents, fungicides, among others.
