Agricultural Emergency 2023: farmers access benefits

Financial assistance in employer's contributions to the BPS |

The Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries (MGAP) of Uruguay has announced new benefits for farmers in employer contributions to the Banco de Previsión Social (BPS) in the context of the Agricultural Emergency 2023.

The Dirección General de la Granja (DIGEGRA) grants a new benefit to farmers for contributions to the BPS, generated in the period from January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2023, within the framework of Article 1 of Law No. 17,503 of May 30, 2002, as incorporated by the sole article of Law No. 20,150 of May 26, 2023.

The support from the Farm Development Fund (FFG) will cover the minimum contribution to the rural employer's contribution and, if applicable, the employer's contribution to health insurance.

Limited term. The application form will be available until next Monday, June 19, 2023 until 00:00 hours.

Beekeepers

As for farmers, DIGEGRA grants a similar benefit to beekeepers in contributions to the BPS, generated in the same period and under the same laws mentioned above.

The support from the Farm Development Fund (FFG) will cover the minimum contribution to the rural employer's contribution and, if applicable, the employer's contribution to health insurance.

Limited term. The application form will be available until next Monday, June 19, 2023 until 00:00 hours.

Applicants must be registered in:

Fruit and vegetable producers, including wine and citrus growers, in the National Fruit and Vegetable Register (2022 update), up to 10 equivalent hectares.

Beekeepers in the National Register of Hive Owners (DJ_RNPC 2022), up to 1000 hives.
