The Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries (MGAP) is organizing for this Wednesday, July 5th, the First National Farm Congress. The event will take place at the Teatro Artigas, located at 627 General Flores Street in the city of Trinidadand is supported by the Departmental Government of Flores.
A space for dialogue and progress
The program of activities indicates that starting at 9:00 a.m., the reception and welcome of the delegations of producers and union representatives of the Uruguayan farm will take place.
The national and departmental authorities will officially welcome the participants, opening a space for dialogue and cooperation for the future of the Uruguayan farm.
The objectives of the congress will be presented at 9:45 a.m., followed by a mid-term assessment of the General Management of the Farm (DIGEGRA) of MGAP. A balance of the actions and results obtained between March 2020 and June 2023 will be presented, as well as the Budget Execution for the period 2020-2023 and its projection.
INAGRA, yes or no?
At 11:00 a.m., the focus of the discussion will be on the National Farming Institute (INAGRA). Participants will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the creation of this organization, analyzing the financing and contributions of the sector.
Definition of strategic lines
After a convivial lunch, the congress will resume its activities at 14:00 with a workshop to discuss and define strategic lines of action.
Participants will have the opportunity to discuss what farm they want for the next few years, prioritizing the short-term strategic lines for the next two years and defining the long-term guidelines for "the farm of the future".
Finally, at 4:00 p.m., the conclusions of the meeting will be presented, before concluding the day at 4:30 p.m. and bidding farewell to the delegations.
