Opportunity for horticulturists and start-ups |
The Dirección General de la Granja (DIGEGRA) has announced the opening of a special registration period for the National Fruit and Vegetable Registry, which will run from October 28 to November 10, 2024. This period is specifically designed for watermelon and peanut producers, as well as for new companies wishing to join the sector.
It is crucial that all producers who are not yet registered take advantage of this opportunity. Registration is an essential requirement to access the various benefits offered by the Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries (MGAP).
Benefits of enrollment
Registration in the National Fruit and Vegetable Register is not only mandatory, but also opens the door to multiple benefits. These include subsidies for farm insurance policies, access to calls for business plans and the refund of IVA (tax) on diesel fuel for small producers. In addition, credits with differentiated interest rates and tariff benefits from UTE are offered to those producers who have registered cold storage facilities.
It is important to remember that all companies with commercial activity in horticulture, fruit growing and floriculture, including olive, citrus and non-traditional crops, must register in order to receive this support.
For more information, interested parties may contact DIGEGRA at telephone number 23064280, ext. 6, option 3, or visit its website: gub.uy/mgap/farm/. Consultations can also be made at the most convenient area agency for each producer.
