Financial support for family farming
In order to strengthen family farming in our country, the Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries (MGAP) has launched the National Family Farming Plan. This comprehensive initiative seeks not only to support small producers, but also to promote sustainable agricultural practices that benefit the environment and local communities.
One of the fundamental pieces of this plan is the subsidized credit offered by the Agencia Nacional de Desarrollo (ANDE). This credit is specially designed for Micro, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (MSMEs) in the agricultural sector, allowing them to access financing on preferential terms to make investments that have a positive environmental impact.
Favorable conditions for investing in sustainability
Regarding credit conditions, the following are the maximum amounts to be requested per currency (UYU, UI and USD):
- 300,000 UYU at a rate of 18%
- 200,000 IU (Indexed Units) at a rate of 3.5%
- 20,000 USD at a rate of 3.5%
The term to access this subsidized loan expires on October 31, 2024.
The MSMES that wish to access this credit must focus on investments that promote the sustainable management of natural resources, the implementation of processes adapted to the Circular Economy, and measures for pollution control and prevention. These categories are not only aligned with sustainable development objectives, but also reflect a tangible commitment to the conservation of the natural environment and the continuous improvement of agricultural practices.
