The deadline to register data in the General Agricultural Census 2024 ends on December 9, an obligation established by Law 16,616. This survey, which covers all owners, holders or persons responsible for rural land registers, is essential for the planning of public policies in the agricultural sector. The census includes not only agricultural and livestock farms, but also sports fields, recreational or family properties and land for personal consumption.
The information to be provided
Producers who have not yet completed the questionnaire must have a series of specific data to ensure the correct collection of information:
Number of rolls. It is necessary to report the numbers of the rural census tracts on which it is reported, regardless of their specific use.
Identification of the informant. The RUT or Cédula de Identidad number of the person responsible for the farm is required.
Specific records. Depending on the activity carried out, the corresponding numbers must be provided for:
-
- DICOSE or DICOSE Poultry (for livestock or poultry activities).
-
- Registration with the National Institute of Viticulture (if engaged in viticulture).
-
- National Fruit and Vegetable Registry (if you are a fruit and vegetable producer).
Information about the inhabitants. Information must be provided on who lives on the farm, detailing the number of people and their relationship with the productive activity.
Consequences of noncompliance
INE has emphasized that failure to comply with the obligation to complete the census may result in penalties, with fines ranging from 20 to 50 readjustable units (UR), as stipulated by Law 16.616. Therefore, all rural census owners, without exception, are urged to comply with this obligation before the deadline.
