As from December 16, 2024, the National Livestock Information System (SNIG) will begin to deregister those DICOSE records that have not complied with the presentation of the Annual Affidavit for more than one fiscal year. This measure mainly affects livestock producers who, for various reasons, have not regularized their situations within the established deadlines.
The SNIG, under the Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries (MGAP), notified that the inaction of DICOSE number holders could have significant consequences, such as the termination of the registration number, the deactivation of the delivery of caravans and the obligation to regularize the balances of animals in their name. This measure, which affects part of the production sector, seeks to ensure the proper functioning of the livestock traceability and control system.
Steps to regularize the Annual Affidavit
Producers who are in non-compliance have the possibility of regularizing their situation through a series of steps established by the SNIG. To do so, they must first go to the corresponding offices, where they can initiate the process of updating their data and/or lifting the termination of their DICOSE number.
The steps are as follows:
Visiting a customer service office. The producer must go to the MGAP Headquarters (SNIG) in Montevideo or to the DICOSE Coordinating Office closest to his/her location. In the capital city, an appointment can be made through the web portal, specifically for the "Data update and/or cessation survey".
Filing the 2024 Annual Affidavit. Although out of time, the user must file the Annual Affidavit 2024 in electronic format.
Delivery of documentation. Once the declaration has been made, the affected party must present the "Minutes for non-compliance" together with the pertinent discharges to formalize the procedure.
Application for lifting of interdiction. Finally, to complete the process, the producer may request the lifting of the interdiction by email to the following address info@snig.gub.uyattaching an image of the stamped "Minutes for non-compliance".
Consequences for producers
Failure to file the Annual Affidavit not only jeopardizes the validity of the livestock registry, but also affects producers' operations. The consequences of not regularizing the situation may imply, in addition to the cancellation of the DICOSE number, the impossibility of accessing the benefits of the system, such as the provision of caravans for the control and traceability of animals.
This call for regularization is an opportunity for producers who have not yet complied with this procedure to get up to date, avoiding additional sanctions and guaranteeing the continuity of their livestock activity under the current regulatory framework.
For more information on the procedures and deadlines established, users can consult the SNIG website or go to the corresponding regional offices.
