From May 18 to 20, Soriano is preparing to welcome beekeepers, nature enthusiasts and the curious to celebrate World Bee Day. The event is organized by the Honorary Commission for Beekeeping Development (CHDA) and the Departmental Government of Soriano and includes activities to be carried out in the cities of Mercedes, Dolores and Cardona.
Program of activities
It is an agenda full of interesting activities for all ages, which are shared in full at the bottom of this article in audio format (available only in Spanish). From beekeeping fairs to educational talks, here is a glimpse of what awaits the participating public:
Beekeeping Fair: Saturday, May 18 to Monday, May 20
Explore a variety of high quality bee products at Manzana 20. From exquisite honeys to products derived from the beehive will be available to visitors.
Educational talks and hands-on workshops: Saturday, May 18 and Sunday, May 19
Discover the fascinating world of bees and beekeeping with free technical talks and hands-on workshops. In addition, technical talks on first aid, fire prevention and hive health management are offered.
Honey Tastings and Honey Tasting: Saturday May 18 and Sunday May 19
An invitation to perceive the diversity of flavors offered by local honey in a unique tasting experience. An opportunity to get to know the different varieties and learn to appreciate their quality and added value.
Lifetime Achievement Award: Sunday, May 19
The work and dedication of beekeepers and institutions that have contributed to the development of the beekeeping sector in Soriano is celebrated. It is a moment to recognize their invaluable work.
Talks in schools: from Monday, May 20 to Wednesday, May 22
Promotes interest in beekeeping among children with educational talks in local schools. An experience to learn about the importance of bees, which is fundamental to ensure their protection in the future.
